Fentimans was founded by Thomas Fentiman in 1905 and has brewed botanical drinks from secret recipes ever since.


The drinks are based on fresh ginger root which is milled, steamed and mixed with brewers yeast, cane sugar and fresh spring water in copper pans.

After that the liquid is transfered to wooden vats and left to ferment for a week. During the fermentation some alcohol is developed but due to the small amount of sugar to start with there will only be very little alcohol by volume. On the other hand, more flavours evolve during the fermentation and gives the beverages depth and character. In the brew they then macerate fresh herbs, fruit, aromatic oils, infusions and spices depending on what flavour it will be. Another reason to ferment the drink is that the alcohol that is formed helps to extract the flavour of raw materials. Before bottling Fentimans add carbonated spring water to balance the level of alcohol to maximum 0,5 % abv. After this the drink is rapidly pasteurised to improve the shelf life. The whole bottles are heated to preserve all the flavours and all the good taste in the bottle.


All ingredients are natural and the drinks are free from preservatives. All drinks are artisanal brewed and all the infusions and aromas are made on site by Fentimans. Every bottle has a little deposit resulting from that the beverage is unfiltered and natural.

Fermented ginger root and lemon juice enhanced with speedwell, juniper and ginger. Supersharp acidity makes it ideal to combine with food!

Fermented ginger root, lemon juice, pear and rose oil. Very perfumed and a great complement to aromatic wines such as Grüner Veltliner and Gewürztraminer!

A base of fermented ginger root and fresh mandarin enhanced with seville orange, speedwell and juniper. Complex and very deep flavours.

Dandelion & Burdock is made of fermented ginger root and infusions of the roots of dandelion and of burdock and spiced with aniseed. This drink reminds of root beer with very distinct character of liquorice and canned cherries.

Ginger Beer made of fermented ginger root and enhanced with capsicum, ginger, lemon, speedwell, juniper and yarrow. Nice herbaceous, not too sweet, Ginger Beer with a tangy ginger burn!

Curiosity Cola. Ginger, kola nut, guarana, katuba. Cola as it should taste!

Tonic Water is made of fermented sicilian lemons, flavoured with citrus oils, kaffir lime leaf, juniper, lemongrass and quinine. A dry and very fresh premium tonic!

Ingredients: Carbonated water, fermented ginger root (water/ginger/sugar/yeast), sugar, colour caramel (E150), phosphoric acid (E338), caffein, natural flavourings: cola, guarana, catuba, herbs.

Ingredients: Carbonated water, fermented lemon (water/lemon/sugar/yeast), natural flavourings: quinine, lemongrass, kaffir lime leafs, juniper.

Ingredients: Beer 70% (barely, hops, water, sugar, yeast), Carbonated water, lemon juice, citric acid, natural flavouring: lemon

Thanks to a quick mashing very little sugar evolves and the beer created is very low in alcohol. That’s the reason why the amount of beer is not less than 70% in this Shandy and still below 0,5% abv. It’s a refreshing drink with a very barely character and a fruity finish.
